A second generation Monterey Bay resident, I live in Aptos with my wife and four children. Since graduation from U.C. Berkeley with degrees in history and civil engineering, I have worked for Granite Construction Company for over 25 years on large complex infrastructure projects all around the country. My professional career includes direct experience in all phases of water infrastructure including planning, permitting, pipelines, reservoirs, wells, pumping, water treatment, conservation and removal of functionally obsolete facilities. I have 'hands-on' experience working with regulators, water districts and customers on the Monterey Bay to reshape their water systems to meet current regulatory and community needs. I know first-hand how a community can be negatively impacted by severe water supply problems and will work tirelessly to prevent those impacts on our community.
At Granite Construction Company, I serve on the company's Sustainability Council and represent the customer as one of Granite's six pillars of sustainability. Additionally, I am currently managing a project across the Bay in Carmel Valley to remove an obsolete dam and restore several miles of the Carmel River. (http://www.sanclementedamremoval.org)
