I was born in Redlands, California in 1953. My grandfather, too, was born in Redlands in 1886. I graduated from Yucaipa High School in 1971. I left the area to attend San Diego State and remained there for 9 years. During this time I married and began a family. Working with the Bobcat tractor my father sold me, I became the first swimming pool excavator to use skidsteers for digging. Today more than 3 out of four pools are dug with skidsteers. In 1985 I graduated from Cal State San Bernardino with a degree in Biology. My company has dug thousands of pools over the years and up until the great recession I enjoyed prosperity. In 2010,, after 6 years on the planning commission, I ran and won a seat on the Calimesa City Council. As Mayor pro-tem I have the opportunity to speak publicly and engage in regional groups with other local leaders. I have 6 children 6 grandchildren and more importantly a supportive wife who keeps my compass working. |
