The high volume of people coming to work in Mountain View in addition to the number of people who live in Mountain View has created a traffic problem and has an environmental impact. Alternatives to transportation and the infrastructure to support those modes is one of the most important issues facing our city.
Some ideas we might want to pursue are another transit hub, additional bicycle and pedestrian paths and a community shuttle. We must coordinate with multiple transportation agencies to provide cost effective, frequent, efficient schedules and easily accessible alternatives to move around the peninsula. This will take a change of mindset to start thinking about getting places without a car. This is a challenge we face together and need to solve together.
