I am a lifelong resident of Swissvale and have been volunteering in the community for 20 years. In my years of volunteering I have been the President of the Swissvale Crimewatch, and have established several community activities including the annual Community Clean-Up, Easter Egg Hunt and Halloween Parade. I currently hold the position of Mayor of Swissvale since January of 2006. As Mayor I have worked closely with the police department to establish a K-9 unit as well as "beat cops," which is targeted at reducing street violence, gang activity, and implementing measures to eliminate "hot spots" and gang related crime. Although I love serving my community I feel that the opportunity to be District Justice will allow me to have a substantially positive impact on the communities that the new magisterial position will incorporate. It is important that our communities continue to grow and become safer, more desirable places for people to live and build families. I believe strongly in our communities and the potential they have to be better than great. If elected to this office I will strive to make our communities a safer, cleaner, better place to live, for us as well as those of the future.
