Full Biography for Janice (Leal) Bass
Candidate for |

|
I am a lifelong resident of Bell, although I was born in Mission Hospital in Huntington Park. I attended Catholic schools in the area (St. Rose of Lima, Pius X High School)before attending Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles, graduating with a liberal arts degree in 1963. I taught high school for two years, married and then spent twenty-three years as a substitute and part time teacher in Southeast area Catholic elementary schools. When enough dollars were not available for tuition, the City of Los Angeles provided a job because it is a sad fact that one cannot support two children in Catholic schools by teaching in one. I have been married to my husband George for forty-five years and have lived in the same house for forty-three years. |
