Political Philosophy for Janice (Leal) Bass
Candidate for |
The revelations of this past week are disappointing. Many of us of have given our hearts to the police and to the candidates, knowing that these people have stood up and said no the corruption in Bell and that the city can be fixed. Now, again, we are subjected to intimidation, inaccurancies and politacal rhetoric. We have given help to many, and in return we receive disappointment. Business improvement has been missing from our city for a long time and needs special attention. Employee compensation, at its present level, is unsustainable and must be reduced. The employees must contribute a portion of the pension benefit, maybe as much as fifty percent. This will help reduce property taxes. Borrowing has become a reality. It is important to be able to repay what was borrowed, thus acquiring a credit history so that one could borrow additional funds when necessary. I feel government entity must have a budget and that budget must be followed and any borrowing must be repaid. This has not been done in Bell, and has led to the current situation. I have given service to this community for decades. As a concerned citizen, even before it hit the news I would file protests. I have listed only a few ideas here. If I am elected I will propose that these be utilized. Bell can be rebuilt and fixed! |
