Full Biography for Deborah (Groner) D'Agostino

I have lived in North Salem for 22 years. I have two children who have attended NS Central Schools: a son who currently attends college and a daughter entering her senior year. I believe my children have been well served by our school district and I wish to insure that a high quality education continues to be available for the young people in our community. But, I am also a business person. I have been self-employed for most of my career. As an entrepreneur I understand the importance of controlling costs - the need to do more with less. In my professional life, I am President of P4H, Inc., a firm which specializes in facilities planning for health and science. With 30 years of consulting experience, I have worked with small rural hospitals, as well as major medical centers. Over the years, I have planned some unique health care facilities such as a hospital for AIDS infected children and a maximum security prison hospital. I recently led the planning effort on the Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center which opened in January, 2010. In all projects, my goal is to create a built environment which both fosters the highest quality of care. As an avocation, I am strongly committed to continuing education and to mentoring early careerists. I am a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and I am a past-president of Healthcare Leaders of New York. Both of these organizations hold the mission of continuing education and mentoring. I sit on the national advisory board of the Healthcare Facilities Symposium and Expo: an organization which promotes design and construction of healing environments. Finally, I am also a visiting lecturer at the New York Medical College, School of Health Sciences and Practice. |
