Candidate Statement

By Frank Emery Flores

Candidate for Councilmember; City of Emeryville

This information is provided by the candidate
Voter Ballot
While the State of California and Bay Area cities struggle financially, Emeryville has a balanced budget with a prosperous future. The Smart Growth and sensible development opportunities that the city has realized in the past few years have put the city in an enviable position economically. If we continue on this healthy financial course and complete what is currently planned, Emeryville will come out of this recession and move forward in a stronger position.

As a councilmember, I am not planning to shake up the establishment or thrust onto the citizens my vision of a new direction/vision for the City, but rather to build upon the successes of our past and continue in this positive direction. Increasing the quality of our `goods and services' and protecting tax dollars will be my focus as your Councilperson.

I have been a member of the Emeryville Housing Advisory Committee since moving to the Triangle Neighborhood in 2003 and I was appointed to the Planning Commission in 2006. I continue to serve diligently on both committees.

I hold degrees in Business Administration from Humboldt State University (1997) and a Masters in City Planning from the University of California Berkeley (2003).

I worked in Non-Profit Housing Development for over 10 years in Northern California and currently work in the Private Housing Development sector here in the East Bay.

I respectfully ask for your vote of confidence in helping to keep our city moving in a positive direction.
