One of the qualities I have is that I'm accessible and approachable. My door is always open at the my hospital...whether you walk in or make an appointment.
I have experience. Working on a dairy farm throughout my young life gave me a love for agriculture and I operate a business in town that provides me with close contact to many people from all walks of life. Some of them share their concerns about their community they live in.
I know the challenges of running a business, meeting a budget and managing people. When I bought my veterinary office 14 years ago it had 3 employees and saw 1000 clients a year. Today we employ over 30 people and we see over 17,000 patients a year. I will work just as hard to keep TID responsible to the farmers and to the city residents as I am with my clients.
I have been president of several boards. I started the Turlock Historical Society with my wife 13 years ago. I have served 10 years on the Chatom/Mt-View School Board where I have experienced good budget times and bad budget times and I have always had good relations in dealing with the unions.
I will listen to everyone's concern. Everyone's concern rather it be from a farmer's concern, city resident's concern, or TID employee's concern. Every concern comes with a story. People are not objects or subjects and they are not a statistic or a number. But they are real human beings with real stories behind them. And I will listen to those stories.
