I grew up on a dairy farm just a quarter of a mile from where I live today. My family has been farming in Stanislaus County for over 100 years. I attended local schools (Chatom School and Turlock High School) and went to veterinary school at Purdue University.

After graduating from Purdue I moved back to Turlock and married Kristen Soderstrom. Kristen's family farms almonds and raised turkeys. Kristen is a teacher and just recently finished her a doctorate in education. I own two veterinary hospitals with my partners Doug Marks and Brandon Barrett in Turlock.

Both Kristen and myself are involved in our community. We both believe in the power of Community Involvement and the change that can come from it.

I'm 42 and I have three children, Nickolaus, Phoebe and Teddy and reside on our small ranch "Einstein Acres" that is 99% completely run on solar power. We have 6 dogs, 20 cats, llamas, goats, sheep, miniature cows and much more...
