Political Philosophy for John A. Kermen
Candidate for |
I have learned from our recent history that there needs to be more direction from the Board with the hospital's administration, and not the other way around. This includes expectations, specific indicators, and continuous monitoring of our top administrative leadership structure. I plan to place more emphasis on these areas. I believe that I have displayed knowledge, dedication, objectivity and a strong sense of responsibility to the successful provision of healthcare to this community. I believe that my Board involvement as Chief of Staff and as a Board member has provided necessary experience. As a Clinician, I have insight concerning the complex issues of healthcare. I also represent the Medical Staff, whose input is crucial to the success of the hospital. My practice is hospital-based, which enables me to have first-hand knowledge with what is actually happening within the hospital, and provides for open communication with the hospital staff. My greatest strength is that I listen. I gather all of the relevant information on the specific issue, and I am sensitive to the needs of all groups or individuals involved (community, Medical Staff, hospital staff). I consider the ramifications of the decision, and I explore alternative approaches with an open mind. I have integrity, and I will stand by my decision once I have decided it is the correct, "right" path. I am straightforward and I try to be as constructively positive as possible. |
