Jenna Linnekens has been an event planner for seven years and sits on the board of HSMAI (Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association). She is an entrepreneur and a person who is passionate about the Santa Monica community and its future. She currently works with a company that specializes in special events for corporations, organizations and large groups. She is a former on-air television reporter and producer, and has an extensive background in teen-education. She has been a tireless advocate for important local issues such as community development, neighborhood law enforcement programs and homelessness. She went to school in Santa Monica throughout her elementary and high school years. She is married and lives in Santa Monica. She has always been a woman with original thoughts and solutions to challenging issues. As a student she was active in "PEP LA" Peer Education Program of Los Angeles with Teens Educating Multi Cultural Teens on AIDS education. She attended San Diego State University and focused her education on sociology and cross cultural studies while working towards a career in broadcast journalism. Her passion has always been to deeply affect the lives of others be it through broadcast communications or now city politics. She can bridge the political divide with her sharp listening skills and innovative ideas. After being on air in Oregon where she wrote edited and anchored the news she moved to Chicago and then back to Los Angeles all the while working in television news. Her next venture was in Public Relations which finally landed her in the world of special events where she focuses on content rich programs that require branding and experiential marketing solutions. She maintains this as her full time work while also running a production company that specializes in developing television content for the bridal industry. Her desire has never wavered to make significant change in the world. Her deep commitment to the Santa Monica community and sincere desire to ignite a new era of balance in our city is contagious. Her solutions to the homeless issue and livability concerns motivated her to run in this very critical election. She has no political baggage and is ready to work for you! |
