Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Lucia Mar Unified School District; Trustee Area 2

I am a CPA with over 20 years of accounting and financial management experience. I was Vice President and Controller of a publicly traded health care company as it grew from $10 million to almost $400 million in revenue. I have been a finance analyst for Intel Corporation and I am a partner in a local CPA firm.

During my career, I have managed many employees and always established a working atmosphere of trust and teamwork. I would return this approach to the board's relationship with teachers, classified employees, and parents to repair the deep rift that currently exists.

I have served four years on school site councils (two at Ocean View with one as secretary). I served on the LMUSD committee to establish the policy for student promotion and retention, and have been a volunteer reading tutor. Additionally, I co-founded the LMUSD "Expanding Horizons" summer program.

I am the candidate is who most qualified to ensure that the finances of the district are prudently and fairly managed for the best interests of all students, regardless of ability. It is my wish to provide the educational groundwork so that each student can achieve his or her goals in life.

My husband and I have three sons, two at AGHS and one who is an attorney. We have always been very involved with our children's education, and have always been concerned about the education of other children as well.
