Full Biography for Anthony "Fel" Amistad

|
I lived in San Mateo County for most of my life. After graduating from Stanford University, I moved to Menlo Park. I experienced some difficulties in taking night classes in real estate and accounting at Canada College. Parking and course availability were big issues back then, but no different than today. As a candidate for the College Board, I want to make a difference so students and adult learners can have access via online courses and other alternate means. I want college to be accessible and affordable. As an MBA/Doctoral College Professor in Silicon Valley and northern California, I understand the demands and needs for students, parents of students, and working adults who wish to attend college for a degree or to simply enroll in one or two courses to learn a new trade or subject. I want to advocate for our students' success so that they can transition into 4-year universities and eventually into the workforce where they can earn a living and provide for the future. The American Dream is still alive and well. I want our learners and citizens of our nation to realize that college is no longer a privilege nor unattainable. College education can be achieved. I will be 100% diligent in ensuring that our community colleges meet the needs and demands of a working force and student population. I am qualified to be our District Trustee based on my academic experience and credentials. I also hold a Post-Master's Degree Certificate in Public Administration. Other experience & qualifications: Public & Community Service
