I am one of the few people in this city that has been intimately involved in our school district during the great times and now the tough times. The irresponsible spending must stop.Anytime a district of our size is spending more than a million dollars in a given quarter, there is a real problem. Recently, the cheerleaders at the high school were not allowed to travel to an away game because the district did not want to spend their tightly budgeted money on a bus. This is just one of many examples of how are students are being negatively impacted by the out of control spending on legal fees by our district. If I am elected to the school board, I will call for an independent audit of all of our district's finances. We will then put together a plan to ensure that the money is appropriately spent on our students. |
