Getting Back to Customer Service
Part of the strategy to be a sound operator of a drinking water provider is to stay focused and to not take actions that lead you astray from your mission. The Newhall County Water District needs to remain customer focused, stop filing lawsuits against other water providers, stop annexing small, distant islands of service territory that are expensive to serve, and generally manage its service territory for efficient operation. New annexations rely disproportionately on more expensive imported water that results in higher water rates for existing customers. NCWD needs to deannex areas that the Los Angeles County LAFCO recommended for deannexation to increase the efficientcy of water agencies in the Santa Clarita Valley.
