Francisco Preciado Jr. has lived in Newark for over 25 years. He is proud that his professional and academic success began by obtaining his K-12 education in Newark public schools. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley School of Law, where he was recognized for completing the Pro Bono Pledge for volunteering over 50 hours to assist in nonprofit legal work. Prior to obtaining his Juris Doctorate, Francisco graduated with a Master's Degree in Mexican American Studies from San Jose State University. He received dual Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Chicana/o Studies from Stanford University. He currently serves as a law clerk for EFP Law Group. Francisco is a proud father and husband. His wife, daughter, and son are a constant reminder of why he is committed to making the world a better place.

Francisco has always been active in local activities. Whether it's painting the mural at the Newark Memorial High School, or it is speaking to Newark students in the classroom. Most recently, he was the keynote speaker for Schilling Elementary's 6th grade promotion. Prior to law school he was the Associate Executive Director of a bay area non-profit dedicated to social justice through community empowerment and youth leadership development. He is a co-founder of a non-profit dedicated to the advancement of the Latino community through advocacy and education. Francisco is committed to social justice because he believes that since all people are created equal, they should have an equal opportunity to succeed.

My vision for the city is to ensure the success of current and future generations by promoting economic development, neighborhood revitalization, and public safety.
