Candidate for
Board Member; Bolinas Community Public Utility District

My wife (Arline Mathieu) and I have lived in Bolinas since 1994.

I spent most of my career working in community development finance. I was the founding chairman of community development banks in Brooklyn and Oakland which served low and moderate income communities. I also worked as the director of nonprofits in Brooklyn and Oakland. Among the other boards I've served on were the Greyston Family Inn, which provides housing and services to homeless families in Yonkers, and the national Community Development Financial Institutions Coalition.

Since retirement, I've focused on historical research, and recently published a biography of a woman who was an early labor activist. I also continue to serve as the Treasurer of Konchok Foundation, a small nonprofit that sponsors a school in Tibet.
