Mike was born and raised in Half Moon Bay, CA. He attended the local public schools and graduated from Half Moon Bay High School in 1990. Mike pursued a career in technology in Silicon Valley for 10 years before starting his own company, Alifano Technologies in 2000. Alifano Technologies focuses on providing leading-edge technology support to all Coastside home users and small businesses. Over the last 13 years Mike has successfully grown his business from a one-man operation to a staff of 15 employees; he is proud that all his employees can both work and live in our Coastside Community. Mike, his wife Cortney and father Allan, operate their computer sales and service business at 225 Main St. in downtown Half Moon Bay. Recently Alifano Technologies was awarded the Coastside Hall of Fame Business of the Year by the Half Moon Bay Chamber of Commerce. Alifano Technologies has been a Chamber member since 2003 and held all positions as a Chairman's Circle Club Member. Currently he is Vice President of the Coastside Fire Protection District Board of Directors after being appointed as a Director in 2010 and a successful election for 2011-2015 term. Along with serving as a board director for the Cabrillo Education Foundation, Mike is also past President of the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club the Coastside, and past board member of Coastside HOPE. He was a past member of the HMB Police Chief's Advisory Committee, as well as an active supporter in the Police Athletics League. He is currently a Half Moon Bay Rotarian and Vice President of BNI Half Moon Bay. Mike's political experience began in 2009 when he managed his father successful election to the Half Moon Bay City Council and current position of Mayor for 2011-2012. He also managed the successful election of Rob Pappalardo to the CUSD School Board. He was the Technology Chair for FOCUS (Friends of Cabrillo Unified Schools) for the Yes on Measure E & S campaign. Following the successful passage of both Measure E & S he was appointed to the CUSD Measure E Citizen's Oversight Committee. In 2012 Mike was appointed to both the Measure S Facilities Program Bond Steering Committee and Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee. Mike has committed to supporting so many local non-profits and educational initiatives as well as volunteering his expertise and technology for all the local school auctions, fundraisers as well as the HMB High School Annual Hall of Fame Awards Dinner and High School Outdoor Graduation. Mike can be found year around helping Coastside Adult Day Health Center with their Dream Machines Event, Maverick's Invitational Big Wave Surf Contest which benefits the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastside, Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival Giant Pumpkin Photo Booth that benefits the Cabrillo Education Foundation, Rotary of Half Moon Bay and one of his favorites the Christmas Day Dinner for the local seniors at the IDES Hall. |
