Environmental Steward

I believe that environmental issues are important to my community because the environment is what we all share and experience together. The City of Gardena has limited space. Thus, we cannot allow poor stewardship of the limited space that is available to devalue the community and destroy the environment. Active efforts must be taken to ensure that clean up does occur, so a clean environment remains for future generations.

The measures I would propose to make the City more proactive and effective on environmental issues is to always provide full disclosure to the community on the issues of converting blighted areas. I would investigate measures that promote the use of rooftop solar capabilities on all new and remodeled commercial construction. Create an awareness program that honors businesses, institutions, and residents that find unique uses for recycled items. It is pertinent to seek input on how the community envisions a transportation plan that is effective and has some seamless integration with surrounding transportation agencies. I will always seek input from the community to ensure there are still green spaces for family enjoyment.
