Encourage existing businesses to take more interest in city. Promote greater collaboration with the Gardena Valley Chamber of Commerce to recognize more businesses and the community work that they do as good citizens. We can work harder as a community and local government to attract business and this can be done citywide. We want to attract new businesses to settle anyplace in Gardena that is appropriate for their business model. We may want to assist current businesses with resources to help them expand their operations to create more employment opportunities, as well as work on their business exteriors and facades to create a more modern appearance. We can work harder on visioning for underdeveloped areas of city. I would hold forums with current community members and business owners to hear all the issues related to the various thoroughfares and business corridors. We then begin to develop a shared vision for those corridors. This could be the revision of the current plan or discussions to develop a new plan. We can promote Gardena as a friendly business environment for entrepreneurs, start-ups, and create business incubator facilities. Those type of facilities are ubiquitous to all business sectors and industries. This also can provide an opportunity for entrepreneurial youth programs. |
