I am trying to redefine the meaning of 'public service' in Simi ValleyBy Randy NemecekCandidate for Council Member; City of Simi Valley | |

I am running for City Council to improve the quality of our local government decision-making and become a positive example for all public service. As a current member of the Board of Directors of The Samaritan Center in Simi Valley, I plan to donate 100% of my public salary to this charity every year. I will not take a dime from the taxpayers to serve my friends and neighbors in Simi Valley with pride, honesty, and respect. At a time when the others candidates are arguing over who is going to get the most in benefits from the taxpayers, I am the only one challenging them to donate their monetary compensation to a local charity of their choice to "give back" to the community and help make Simi Valley a better place to live for everyone. My record of volunteer public service shows my commitment to the community: Member of Samaritan Center in Simi Valley's Board of Directors from January 2012 to present Member of Big Sky Homeowner's Association Board of Directors from April 2011 to present Graduated from Simi Valley's Community Emergency Response Training Class on June 4, 2012 Chairman of Simi Valley Neighborhood Council #2 from about March 2009 to February 2011 Member of Simi Valley's Task Force on Homelessness from March 2009 until February 2011 Member of Simi Valley's Crime Prevention Task Force from January 2010 to December 2012 Member of Simi Valley's Community Block Grant Advisory Committee from January 2010 to December 2011 |
