Candidate for
Board Member; Cotati/Rohnert Park Unified School District

As a parent and current board member of the Cotati Rohnert Park Unified School District, my commitment has been to provide quality education programs, both academic and vocational, raising academic standards, while maintaining district-wide accountability and fiscal stability.

A board member for the past 16 years, I've helped implement new education standards leading to improved student achievement. Our schools have been modernized and equipped with the latest technology. We reduced class sizes, improved high school career pathways and opened our first pre-school program. Our continued focus on student achievement is evident by our award winning programs.

My priorities are public accountability, recruiting and retaining competent teachers and administrators and creating an environment that enhances the ability of all students to reach their full potential.

Appointed 6 years ago as Governmental Relations Chair and elected by Sonoma County School's trustees to be Sonoma County's representative to the California School Boards Association, I have advocated in Sacramento and Washington DC on behalf of our students for improvements in funding, standards and education reforms.

For me students come first. With your support I will continue to pursue the needed educational reforms that will produce and support the educational goals we all have for our children.
