Carolyn Clarke is a 15 Year Menlo Park resident living in the Belle Haven Neighborhood, and a progressive advocate with strong ties to the local & business community. She is an exceptionally well-rounded candidate with a vision for an abundant community and an inclusive Menlo Park from Sharon Heights to the East of 101.

A graduate of San Francisco State University, with a degree in Accounting, for the past 28 years, Carolyn has held positions with public accounting firms both local and national. Her employers include Grant Thornton LLP, Nigel, Karlin & Segal, Certified Public Accountants as well as nonprofit organizations, namely Kaiser Family Foundation, Stanford University Overseas Studies, Trust for Public Land and several others. Beyond all this, Carolyn has a passion for community service and wants to serve an even greater role by being on the City Council.

SMALL BUSINESS OWNER, MOTHER AND COMMUNITY CAMPAIGNER

Small business owner and mother of two wonderful sons, Carolyn Clarke's career in public service is almost a first since no one has run for City Council from the Belle Haven neighborhood in 26 years.

As a single mother and with a tax and accounting firm, Carolyn's experience, her ties to the community and her ability to manage multiple projects at a time, makes her a strong candidate for the Menlo Park City Council. She maintains a "Can do" attitude, and even when faced with challenges, she has always landed on solid ground.

AN ADVOCATE FOR EDUCATION, HOUSING AND HEALTH CARE

The daughter of an Accountant, who migrated to the United States from Belize in 1970, Carolyn has made small business ownership and economic opportunity priorities in her career. She has worked as a consultant helping grassroots non-profit entities to make their financial reporting and systems more efficient and provide information to funding agencies.

Carolyn has worked with multiple organizations to promote and support women's health, and small business owners, creating strong connections in the local business community. She has helped to secure grant funding to assist with education, lead petitioner for two charter schools, is currently working on a plan to bring well-needed services and transportation to the East side of Menlo Park.
