Candidate for: San Joaquin Delta College District 5 Board of Trustee My name is David Tanner and I have lived in District 5 for the past 12 years. I have always taken an active roll in our community involvement and provide support for our local educational system. I am excited to offer my experience and talents to help Delta College Board of Trustees continue moving in the direction of higher education for our community and the youth of our area. I have been active for many years successfully supporting our local teachers and youth development programs throughout our district and the State of California. I have assisted with many volunteer positions for our school district. I have assisted with interview panels for the selection of teachers for the district. I have had the pleasure of working on site councils managing money dedicated to school district needs. I have worked on bond oversight committees and have successfully chaired a booster organization for several years at our High School. In addition, I was an appointed trustee to the board of the Mark Twain Saint Joseph Hospital District. I own and operate a consulting company that has been in business for more than 27 years. Tanner Consulting Group worked on a plan and provided project management for a project that was awarded the Consulting Engineer Project of the Year for the State of California. TCG has been awarded several awards for planning and design consulting throughout the United States. We have worked to help develop new safety standards for athletic fields, sports fields, school and college campuses all over the U.S. We have provided construction management services for many of these projects, making sure that the jobs were done correctly, on time and importantly on budget. We have acted as expert witness for several trials for State, County and City projects and even as an expert witness for the Federal Government. It would be my priority to make sure Delta College services continue to expand and meet the needs of our entire district and that the education staff has the tools they need to meet these raising demands. I will also pursue the expansion of services and facilities that we can offer to the people within our district. I will also seek partners in education to position Delta to be able to accommodate the requirements of our ever-changing work environment. |
