Smart Voter Political Philosophy for David E. Tanner

Candidate for
Trustee; San Joaquin Delta Community College District; Trustee Area 5

This information is provided by the candidate

To prepare our students for the future, Delta College Board of Trustees must foster the three "T's," teamwork, training, and technology, so all students have the opportunity to succeed.

I will promote a quality-learning environment for students. Teachers and the board must work together with administration as a team! Together, we must emphasize skills training so our students can transition to a 4-year college or career. I will make sure our classrooms are ready to take advantage of new technologies to prepare students to compete and prosper in this new century.

As a successful small business owner for 27 years, I know what it takes to succeed in a competitive global economy. My priority will be to ensure Delta College services continue to expand and meet the needs of our students and that education staff has the tools they need to meet these rising demands. I will also pursue the expansion of services and facilities we can offer to all learners within our district. .

I will seek partnerships with business to position Delta to accommodate the requirements of our ever-changing work environment. Even in tough economic times, responsible, prudent, and innovative fiscal management can create greater opportunity for Delta students.
