The Perfoming Arts Center will be an attraction that people will visit which will help support our local economy.The East County Performing Arts Center is owned by the city and was very popular before its doors were closed over two years ago, causing the city have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in electricity, water, phone bills and maintenance. Meanwhile, the over 1,100 seats remained empty, without even an attempt to bring consumers into the city. This center is a unique anchor which can bring back performing arts to the city by being used by local schools and community programs, as well as be run as an event center to breath life into the deserted nights in downtown. The revival of the center with a strong and consistent strategic plan is being supported and awaited by businesses, promoters and performers. Ticket sales and concessions will generate income to pay bills and employment opportunities. Finally, the 1,100 people leaving the shows and walking the streets will be a boost for surrounding businesses. |
