Full Biography for John Melvin Halliwill
Candidate for |
I was appointed "Director" for BCVWD, September 14, 2011. I am currently serving as Vice President and a member of the Personnel Committee. I attend City of Beaumont meetings, the Beaumont Basin Watermaster, the San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency and others where water issues are being discussed. Since my appointment I have promoted greater communication between BCVWD and its ratepayers, working with other board members to improve ratepayer services, build reserves and pay the bills. Additionally I feel we need to find ways to promote water conservation and information so the ratepayers can make intelligent choices to conserve water. Water conservation is not just the planting of drought tolerant vegetation but should also include in older housing and businesses possible replacement of high water usage toilets, where existing vegetation is used the possible replacement of sprinklers to a more a efficient type and the adjustment of the system so excess water in not applied. I am serving my second term as Director and Secretary of Solera our Oak Valley Greens Homeowners Association. Before coming to Beaumont I was a Director for IAPMO, retired from the Medina County Environmental Health Department. I did serve in the active USAF and Reserve. |
