Sustainability requires that we reduce our energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.Sustainability requires that we reduce our energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. To help achieve this, I support full implementation and funding of our Climate Action Plan to promote energy efficiency, as well as our Active Transportation Plan to improve and expand bicycle routes, pedestrian paths and public transportation. I also want to make alternative/renewable energy choices available to residents of Albany, including those who cannot afford to purchase a solar home system. Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) is a system under which cities and counties combine the buying power of customers to secure alternative energy supply contracts. I would like Albany to join Oakland, Berkeley, Marin County and San Francisco in pursuing CCA initiatives, particularly ones that emphasize the development of local renewable energy resources. |
