Scrap the Property Tax System

By Mark Purcell

Candidate for State Representative; Pennsylvania State House of Representatives; District 20; Democratic Party

This information is provided by the candidate
Its time to replace property taxes with a more fair broad based tax
When elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives I will immediately sign on to HB-1776 that eliminates all school property taxes, and 511 nuisance taxes in Pennsylvania, and replaces them with a 7% sales tax, plus an increase in E.I.T. from 3.22% to 3.99%.

This will save home owners and business' collectively billions of dollars that will be pumped into the economy by eliminating school property taxes on all residential and business properties in Pennsylvania.

You will finally own your home and never worry again about losing it if you become ill or cannot pay your property taxes for some other reason.

As an example of savings to you; if you now pay $3,000 a year in property taxes. By eliminating it you would realize an immediate savings of $2500. Most people spend around $7,000 on food and clothing per year. Your sales tax burden at that spending rate would be apx $460.00 the money you save could be used for other items important to you or put in a savings.
