Bob's Background Bob was born in Ft. Belvoir, Va. in 1952 and is the oldest of two children. He was raised an Army "brat" to a career military family and lived throughout the Pacific and United States. They settled in Salinas, CA in the late 1950's where Bob and his brother lived until both began their college education. Bob received his formal education at Hartnell Community College in Salinas and at San Jose State University (go Spartans) majoring in Administration of Justice. Bob began his law enforcement career with the Palo Alto Police Department in 1973 and worked as a patrol officer, training officer and detective. He left Palo Alto in 1985 for the City of Vallejo Police Department after being recruited by then Chief of Police Roland Dart. There he worked as a patrol officer, field training officer, detective and promoted to Corporal. As a Corporal, he managed the cadet program, police reserves, civilian volunteers, crime prevention unit and ran the Citizen's Academy. He was later promoted to Sergeant and after a brief return to patrol, was privileged to take command of the Central Community Substation. This was Bob's calling as he became intimately involved with the community; listening to the issues and developing sustainable solutions. Bob became well known to the residents and the business community as a person who listened, genuinely cared, helped and had a "can do" attitude with all the diverse communities that resided in town. He retired in 2006 but desiring to remain in touch with the community, he returned to work. In 2009, Bob began working with Fighting Back Partnership (FBP) as the Crime Prevention Coordinator. He specializes in Neighborhood Watch programs, business watch, personal safety, home and business security and civil nuisance abatement. He has spoken about FBP's crime prevention program to numerous groups including a national conference in Washington DC. Bob is married to Ramona and lives in the Hiddenbrooke subdivision of Vallejo with their rescued dog, Miranda and grandcat, China. He has two grown children and two grandchildren who also reside in Vallejo.
