Born in 1965, Viker has been a resident of the borough of Selinsgrove since 2003. He and his wife Brenda live in The Price House, a 1928 Craftsman bungalow in a beautiful residential neighborhood of Selinsgrove with Sparky, a rescue dog and Lazarus, an old friendly black cat. His parents are the late Arne Viker, a millwright mechanic and Trish Viker, a former secretary turned law enforcement officer, now retired.

Viker is an elected member of the Borough Council of Selinsgrove, PA. He was recently elected to serve as Vice-President of Council. He also chairs the Public Safety committee and sits on the committees for Personnel Management and Community Activities and Public Affairs

In addition to his service as a borough councilman, Viker's experience with government agencies includes thirteen years as a family services counselor and supervisor in the state of Florida, overseeing child abuse prevention and intervention services in a three-county region.

As a freelance production manager, Viker provides operations and technology consulting to civic theatres and performing arts organizations nationwide. He is an active member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local 636, and the United States Institute for Theatre Technology, where he serves on the national Publications Committee.

He and his wife Brenda are employed by Susquehanna University, where Viker is an Associate Professor of Theatre and faculty Technical Director. He teaches courses in Production, Stage Management and Arts Administration and his articles on theatre safety, management and education have appeared nationally in Stage Directions magazine, Teaching Theatre and the quarterly journal Theatre Design and Technology. As a Susquehanna University faculty member, Viker has served on the committees for Admissions and Student Life and the Academic Honesty Judicial Board.

Viker attends St. Pius X Catholic Church in Selinsgrove and is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
