Delaware County, PA | November 2, 2010 Election |
CrimeBy Joseph T. "Joe" HackettCandidate for State Representative; District 161 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Joe is a veteran law enforcement officer. He has witnessed first-hand the worst of our society in his efforts to protect the best. When Joe takes the oath of office in Harrisburg, he will extend his current oath to protect and defend his neighbors and our constitution. His experiences will bring a uniquely qualified voice to the floor of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives on a variety of issues involving police and public safety + the kind of common sense that has kept him safe on our streets and our community a better place in which to live. Joe believes in stiff penalties and aggressive prosecution of individuals committing crimes with guns. He would draw on his experience to ensure that the gun laws on the books were being enforced and that the illegal sale and purchase of firearms not be tolerated. Joe appreciates gun owners' rights under the Second Amendment and supports law abiding citizens owning firearms for personal protection and sporting purposes. Joe is tough on crime because he cares about the victims. He understands that our children and seniors are at risk every day from predators pushing drugs in our schools, fraudulent economic schemes targeting our senior citizens and the unfortunate new age of internet crimes. Joe will tell the victims' side of the story in Harrisburg. |
