Dalidio PropertyBy Paul M. BrownCandidate for Mayor; City of San Luis Obispo | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Needs to be developed as part of the city, not the countyErnie Dalidio's property is located close to the center of town between HWY 101 and Madonna RD and is surrounded by parcels of land already annexed into the city. There is a long political history surrounding this property (see Wikipedia for detailed background), but the courts have ruled that Measure J will stand. This means Ernie has the legal right to develop his property. When the property gets developed it will impact San Luis Obispo and be a financial drain on city resources due to increased street traffic and calls for service from public safety. I believe this property should be eventually annexed into the city so that we can receive sales and property tax revenue to offset the financial impacts on our city. That being said, I'm probably the only candidate for Mayor Ernie Dalidio will even sit down and talk to due to the roles others have played in the political history of this project. |
