Political Philosophy for Jens v. Mueller
Candidate for |
Even though, the position of council member is non-partisan, I believe it is important for the voter to know where a candidate stands on fiscal issues. I consider myself a Conservative-libertarian. I believe in a smaller, less intrusive government, less taxes and regulation and personal self reliance. It is not the role of government, in my view, to care for societies every ill and misfortune. I believe they have become irrelevant and now pose a grave threat to the financial well being of institutions, public and private, that are under their considerable control. Finally, tax paying citizens, should no longer shoulder the pension obligations of city, state or federal employees. In my view, as it relates to public employees, pensions are un-sustainable and must be restructured and converted to 401k's |
