Greg quickly immersed himself in the rich history of land surveying, following in the footsteps of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Henry David Thoreau + all land surveyors.

In 2007, Greg successfully passed the California State-Specific Professional Land Surveyor Exam, recognized by many to be the most difficult professional land surveying exam in the United States to pass. Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors use PE and/or PLS after their name to designate their authority to practice in their respective disciplines.

He was named Co-Facilitator of the Survey/Mapping Sciences Program at Santiago Canyon College where he teaches land surveying and mapping courses. Greg Sebourn is the 2009 recipient of the Adjunct Faculty Award of Excellence, the highest honor bestowed upon faculty at the college. Greg Sebourn was appointed to the City of Fullerton's Citizens' Infrastructure Review Committee for a four-year term by Mayor Bankhead, City Council Members Jones, Quirk-Silva, and Nelson in 2009 (Mayor Pro Tem Keller absent).

Greg Sebourn has been the Senior Survey Project Manager at Johnson-Frank and Associates, Inc. since 2006. He has worked on projects that include the subdivision of Anaheim Stadium to make room for an NFL expansion team, U.S. border properties and rights-of-way acquisition, several National Forest survey projects, and numerous smaller municipal projects.

Greg Sebourn was a technical consultant to the California Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors for the development of the 2008 State-Specific Professional Land Surveyor Exam.

Greg Sebourn is a member of the California Land Surveyor's Association (CLSA).

He is the Co-Chair of the CLSA Trig Star Committee. The Trig Star Program contest is an annual high school mathematics competition sponsored by the National Society of Professional Surveyors based on the practical application of trigonometry. The program recognizes the best students from high schools throughout the nation. Greg is also the committee chair for the Orange County Chapter of the CLSA Trig Star Program. The Orange County Trig Star event at Santiago Canyon College is the largest in California, bringing hundreds of high school students together for the trigonometric competition. The 2006 National Trig Star Champion was from Fullerton's own Sunny Hills High School.

Greg Sebourn is a former Assistant Scout Master for his son's Boy Scout troop. Greg is currently the Survey Merit Badge Counselor for the Orange County Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Greg is also the CLSA-OC Surveying Merit Badge Committee Chair.

The project was completed in September 2009.

In addition to Greg Sebourn's professional consulting, he has worked pro bono on several projects including the Orange County Coastkeeper's Demonstration Garden in Orange. The project is expected to be completed later this year.
