I believe in limited and sustainable government. That means government should spend responsibly and within their means without raising taxes even those disguised as "fees".

I support the section of the California Penal Code stating that the primary purpose of incarceration is punishment.

I believe freedom and free enterprise are fundamental to the American way of life. Economic freedom leads to opportunity which leads to growth which leads to progress. Economic growth depends on individual liberty and enables all citizens to maximize the opportunity to retain the rewards of their labor.

I believe public service is a trust not to be taken lightly.

I believe that family is the foundation upon which Americans have grown and prospered for centuries.

I believe that the greatest local example of tyranny is the government's confiscation of its citizens' private property. I refuse to support condemnation or government restrictions on property without full compensation for such condemnations or restrictions. I especially refuse to support condemnation by governments of private property to be used for non-public uses.

I believe that our Second Amendment Right to, among other things, keep and bear arms is an unalienable individual right that shall not be trumped by any government agency.

I believe government cannot and should not participate in the free market.

I believe your Right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness must be protected through responsible limited governance.

Indeed, Thomas Jefferson said it best:

"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."
