Full Biography for Emanuel Patrascu
Candidate for |
Emanuel Patrascu is the American Dream. He was born and raised in communist Romania, where under the very real threat of death, his father emigrated to the United States in 1987. But Emanuel and the rest of his family were not permitted to leave. Finally, in January 1990, after the revolution, Emanuel and his mother and brother were allowed to leave to join his father in Los Angeles. That should be the beginning of a happy ending, but it's not. Emanuel's Dad's health failed and he died in 1992, leaving Emanuel's mother alone in a country where she could not speak the language and she had no particular job-skills. And this is where the dream really begins. America is the land of hope and opportunity for anyone who is willing to work hard. And Emanuel and his family did. His Mom would take any job available and went to school. Many times she took Emanuel and his brother along so they could help her clean houses and offices and do laundry. His family believed that education is the great equalizer so Emanuel graduated from the University of California Riverside with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Political Science. He is currently a District Representative for our Senator, Tom Harman. Laguna Beach needs Emanuel on our City Council. We need some youth and energy, and most importantly, someone who does not take for granted our American freedom and prosperity. Emanuel has spent his entire life fighting for the American Dream - now let's have him fight for us! |
