Hot spots must be identified with a solution
It is vital that councilpersons get involved with communitiy leaders.

Problem residents and hot spots must be identified with solutions to the problem(s). Approximately two (2) years ago, I was called upon by the residents of Parchester Village to come meet because their community center had been closed due to a shooting. I organized a "task force" of community leaders and other city departments. Monthly town-hall meetings were established along with community policing. The result was that crime was reduced.

Seniors living in Parchester now come out to every meeting and have began to use their center again.v They feel safe. The city must get more involved with redeveloping neighborhoods. Richmond should be a city where residents and non-residents can safely congregate and enjoy community space. Problem residents must be identified in every community and dealt with.

I believe that councilpersons should work close with the police and communities in finding a solution to the problem.
