David is an example of a new upcoming generation of young people who aspire to lead this country on principles of integrity, personal responsibility, hard work, and leading from the heart. David was a naturalized born citizen from overseas. He was born in South Korea, at YoungSan Army Base where his father was stationed and serving in the United States Army. He came to America a few months after he was born. Growing up, he was raised by his grandparents while both his parents had to work in order to support the family. He learned from his grandfather the value of perseverance and determination. No matter how hard something was, he was taught never to give up.

At the age of 16, David decided to become a Republican because one day he asked, his grandfather why he always supported conservatives. This is where the journey begins as David was educated on why his family came to this country. He was reminded why Korea went to war, that bigger government is never the solution and that liberty is an absolute right for every individual. Listening to his grandfather on how hundreds of thousands of lives were lost to fight against the communist, the very live entity of bigger government during that time, the struggles and fear his grandfather felt as he fled further south as communist North Korea pressed on, and hearing the story of how his grandfather endured it all, moved David and made him realize that the Republican party's core principles of limited government and lower taxes was the most plausible philosophy when it came to protecting people's liberty's.

After graduating from Diamond Bar High School, David accomplished a milestone by attending the University of California, Riverside. He graduated in 2007 with a BA in Political Science, International Affairs and was the first one in his remote family to receive a college degree.

David's desire is to give back to his country, which has given him so much. David has a deep love for America, because he knows only in America can someone put in hard work, pursue a goal, and obtain success. He is able, he is willing, he is determined, he is innovative, and he has the American spirit to represent the 42nd Congressional District with passion, integrity, respect, and compassion, all of this with the support of the constituents of his district.
