Time seems to pass so quickly. Four years ago, you trusted me with your vote, allowing me to join the San Mateo-Foster City School Board because I believe, as you do, that our children's education must always be a community priority. Since then, I have gained an in-depth knowledge of current challenges and opportunities in our schools. I have provided leadership in addressing complex issues facing the SM-FC School District while listening to staff, parents and community members' perspectives.

During my four years on the Board, we have expanded educational choices at neighborhood schools and at innovative Magnet Schools; balanced budgets annually; begun renovation of school facilities and facility expansion for increasing enrollments; supported talented staff with professional development, new curriculum, and site-based leaders committed to their success; and maintained high academic standards resulting in continuous impressive gains in student achievement.

For the next four years, we must renew our commitment to educating all students while dealing with the ongoing State budget crisis. We must continue to keep the impact of statewide decisions as far from our classrooms as possible. We must continue to engage our community in ensuring a strong public school system. I pledge to do so.

I promise you that I will continue to be an independent voice working for the very best learning experience for all our children. I would be honored to have the opportunity to represent you once again on the San Mateo-Foster City School District Board of Trustees.
