Service to the Marina Community: I look at the opportunity to serve on MPC's Board of Trustees as a continuation of my service to the Marina community. I currently serve as Chairman of the Economic Development Commission and have been on the commission for 4 years. I am Co-creator of the Marina International Festival of the Winds and have served as Chairman of the Board for over 10 years. I have been President of the Marina Chamber three times since 1999. I Co-chaired Measure R, the bond that facilitated the building of our larger Marina Library, and then served as Construction Chair for the new facility. Financial and Business Experience: Professionally, I am Managing Partner/Financial Consultant for First Pacific Financial Services. I recently moved the office to Marina after opening a branch office in Ryan Ranch 5 years ago. Our company has focused on asset management since 1983 and has offices in both Marina and in Santa Barbara. I have been in the financial industry for over 12 years and hold several Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) licenses that include the Series 7, 8, 31, 63 and 65. Personal Background: I am married to Dorothy, who is an artist, businesswoman, and active community member. Dorothy and I were named Citizens of the Year by the Marina Chamber of Commerce in 2002. I am also the proud stepfather of Max, a recent college graduate now in China and Daniel, a student at Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles. I grew up in Chicago and attended schools in Durango, Colorado and Santa Barbara, California and have a degree in Economics. I spent almost twenty years in the Advertising and Broadcasting business in Southern California before moving to the Monterey Peninsula 15 years ago. I am 51 years young. |
