Born and raised in Northern California, I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from San Jose State University. Eureka has been my home since 1983. My husband, Barry, a retired Computer Operating Systems Programmer, and I live on Humboldt Hill with our dog Roxy.

I worked for Eureka City Schools from 1985 until 2006. Starting in the Purchasing Department then in various business positions, I became the budget analyst. In this role I had the opportunity to learn and understand the legal aspects and requirements of school governance.

As a single, working mother raising a son who graduated from Eureka City Schools, I attended Humboldt State University completing all upper division accounting and business courses required for a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. In 2006, I was solicited by Berkeley Unified School District becoming their Director of Fiscal Services where I served until I retired. I am now a fiscal consultant to various school districts.

Although my career has focused on the fiscal side of schools, my passion is that all students are successful and are the priority in school planning. I have a vast experience with both programs and budgets and understand the delicate balance between fiscal requirements and curricular needs.
