MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE COMMUNITYBy C. Jennet StebbinsCandidate for Trustee; San Joaquin Delta Community College District; Trustee Area 1 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
MAKING A PROFOUND DIFFERENCE WILL LEAD TO A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFEMy mission is to unify our communities, and encourage our youth to set goals for the future. My position on boards and commissions, and elected office has allowed me to participate in decisions regarding our most valued assets. The issues facing us now are how to provide quality education and maintaining low cost in the future, creating meaningful jobs for our students, establishing proper expectations and provide a secure environment for youth. I realize that colleges rather than prisons must be the public growth area of the future, policies must improve the conditions and state of classroom teachers, and public forums must address the best solutions for youth in peril. Our students are our leaders of tomorrow, and we must involve businesses to prepare our students for leadership. As a former nursing student at Delta College, and floor supervisor of a Childrens Hospital,I would encourage Delta College to partner with major teaching hospitals to prepare medical students for internship and medical research. Delta college students could provide a much needed support system to help ease the shortages of medical support staff at San Joaquin County General Hospital. I have held elective office, written a 15 million dollar program for senior housing, developed a food product trademark, owned a real estate franchise and was feature in a College textbook Introduction to Sociology 101, based on Race Relations in Stockton Politics. I am licenced in California and in the State of Georgia as a real estate broker, and I am also a notary public. I would appreciate your vote on November 4, 2008 |
