Two million dollars (and counting) that should have gone to student programs have been wasted by the Board's leadership.
I am running for MiraCosta's Board against the Board's current Chair because I feel that the present leadership of that Board has been ineffectual and the Board as a whole has become dysfunctional. When the issue of palm trees first arose the Board's leadership should have insisted that the problem be dealt with internally. Instead, by allowing the school President to conduct a major public investigation, the Board cost the school over two million dollars that should have been spent on student programs. If the Board leadership had acted responsibly we taxpayers would not be paying administrators not to work. All of this to recover $305.33!
