Candidate for
Council Member; City of Santa Clara; Seat 7

I was born the fourth of six children in an Irish Catholic family in Glasgow. We moved to Sarnia Ontario, Canada, I choose to settle in Santa Clara when I came to California in 1995 because I like its small town feel.

I was very influenced by my mother, who lost her own mother at age 12 and had to work as a servant at age 14 in Donegal. She taught me to value people and to do the chores, she was a very simple person.

I have a Ph.D from one of the top engineering schools in France where I lived for sixteen years after graduation, married, we had two sons.

My specialization area is software tools and embedded software. Companies I have worked or consulted for include Intel, Philips Semiconductors, Magnum Semiconductor, Alcatel and Intelleflex in Santa Clara.

I like to swim, bicycle, garden and watch TV. I am the proud owner of a ten year old Labrador retriever from the Humane Society and I am trilingual in English, French and Spanish.
