Smart Voter Full Biography for Ivy Wu

Candidate for
Board Member; Fremont Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I have been serving on the Fremont Unified School Board since 2004 and am currently the Board President. I am also the Executive Director of a non-profit organization serving special needs children and families in Fremont and the greater Bay Area. I have a BA from UC Berkeley and a law degree (JD) from USF. I have resided in Fremont for 22 years with my family, and I have two great children, one in college and one still attending public high school in Fremont.

Our schools face many challenges including State's proposed budget cuts, personnel changes, facilities, campus safety, student housing, and student achievement. I would like to continue my service to Fremont students, families, and schools by providing stability and continuity of quality as well as innovative education.

With my understanding of the diverse needs and cultures in Fremont, I will seek to effectively inform and include the community in discussion of important issues to develop viable solutions. As a Board Trustee, I have been and will continue to be easily visible, available, and accessible by anyone who needs my attention, advice and assistance.

I sincerely ask for your vote. Thank you.
