I grew up in Redwood City, CA. and after graduating from Sequoia High School, I enlisted in the Marine Corps and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. When I returned to the United States, I met and married Pam Peterson, a life long San Leandro resident. Almost 38 years ago, Pam and I decided that we wanted to make San Leandro our home and where we wanted to raise a family. We have one son, Christopher, who got a great education from the San Leandro public schools. I have worked for Wells Fargo Bank for 30 years this November and I am currently a Risk & Compliance Consultant for the bank. In this position I am responsible for ensuring that the three (3) call centers (Concord, Salt Lake & Baton Rouge with approximately 1,100 plus employees) for the banks Online Customer Service department follows all of the federal regulations (i.e., Anti Money Laundering, Patriot Act, Bank Secrecy Act, etc.). Prior to my current position, for seven (7) years, I was Senior Auditor for the bank. In this capacity, I performed and supervised internal audits of the various departments within the bank. These audits varied from technical, financial, business and/or operational. I have been involved in the San Leandro community for over 35 years. My philosophy on volunteering is: "I have always felt that living in San Leandro is like living in a community of friends and I believe that you just don't take from your friends and community but you give back to them."
