Business Owner:

Four years ago Steve co-founded a company that bridges his knowledge and experience in the software industry with those as an elected official. His company, Government Outreach, dramatically transforms the customer service of government. Government Outreach is a leader in citizen relationship management solutions to city and county governments. His software and knowledge is used to help many cities and counties increase their efficiency, responsiveness and accountability.

While Steve was on the Board of the Wheels Bus System, and before he started Government Outreach, he saw that he could provide some of his software expertise and produced an issue and complaint tracking system for the Wheels Bus System. Steve made this software available to the Wheels Bus System for no cost as a community service. This software is being used to increase responsiveness and track requests of the community in order to enhance service.

When Steve saw that the Livermore Airport was working to increase their responsiveness to the public and better analyze complaints, he made his software available to the Livermore Airport for no cost as a community service. Livermore continues to use the software to track and analyze issues, and has never paid a cent for it, and never will.

While on the Pleasanton Youth Master Plan Implementation Committee, the Committee was looking to produce a website to be a clearinghouse of resources for youth in Pleasanton. Once again Steve stepped forward and produced the website PTown411.com for the City. And as he has done consistently, he give this software to the City for no cost.

In addition to Steve giving his time and expertise to the people of Pleasanton, he goes way beyond the call of duty to increase our Quality of Life.

Business Experience:

Steve has nearly 29 years experience in the computer industry. Self-taught, he has been involved in computer hardware and software design as well as management, since microcomputers first came on the market.

Prior to starting his current company, Steve was the Director of Research and Development of a software company that went public and was later purchased by PeopleSoft (and then Oracle), He was responsible for strategic direction, scheduling, hiring, and budgetary issues. Steve has always been a key player in finding solutions to complicated business problems. He knows how to find the root of problems to find applicable solutions. Many people focus on symptoms. Steve likes to find out the problem that we are trying to solve and come up with several alternative solutions. It is far too limiting, and sometimes expensive, to have to implement a specific solution without thinking about the complete problem at hand.

Community Service:

Steve currently serves of the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of Pleasanton and exemplifies "Service Above Self" and high ethical standards, two of the traits of Rotary International. In the last year he has traveled to Mexico, Central America, and South America to distribute wheelchairs to the needy. Steve has also been an advisor for Amador Valley High School Interact Club.

Steve works with the Pleasanton-Tulancingo Mexico Sister City Organization where he enjoys sharing cultures and helping out with humanitarian aid when needed.

Steve is also a volunteer in our schools, helps run the finish line at high school track meets, and has been a soccer coach, 4-H leader, and an advocate for the Arts in Pleasanton.
