Santa Clara County, CA | June 3, 2008 Election |
Environment, Green Technology, & Future SustainabilityBy Kris WangCandidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 22; Democratic Party | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
California has taken a leading role to combat carbon emissions and oil-dominated energy, but much more needs to be done to preserve and restore our environment. For the past 10 years, I have served as the City of Cupertino Parks & Recreation Commissioner and the Santa Clara County Parks & Recreation Commissioner. I have also been among the strongest supporters of our efforts in renewable energy, green technology, and energy-conscious building codes. In Cupertino, I helped implement a stringent green building code, the funding of two new parks and a new bicycle/footbridge. I have also endorsed the Global Warming and Environmental Protection Act and have been a big proponent of traffic restrictions and anti-pollution measures. As your State Assemblywoman, I will continue the fight for `green' development and for more investment in `green' technologies to promote energy conservation and future sustainability. |
